Using ultra-high frequency (UHF) technology, the tags communicate with either a handheld or fixed RFID reader from a distance of up to six meters. These RFID response tags are compatible with GAO RFID Inc.’s UHF RFID interrogator PC card (227001) and UHF RFID reader (227003). They offer real-time data collection for the identification, tracking, and location of assets or people.

This economical semi-passive RFID response tag series, model 137005, consumes little power enabling more than six years effective operation without battery replacement. They provide an optional LED for visual identification and a 64-byte data memory to store user and configuration information. Designed with an advanced anti-collision multi-tag-handling algorithm, this tag series allows for up to 2000 simultaneous tag identifications at a rate of 100tag/s. Film Investing Using IRS Section 181 Vs. Real Estate Finance Involving New Markets Tax Credits

THE NEW MARKETS TAX CREDIT

The New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program permits taxpayers to receive a credit against Federal income taxes for making qualified equity investments in designated Community Development Entities (CDEs). Substantially all of the qualified equity investment must in turn be used by the CDE to provide investments in low-income communities. The credit provided to the investor totals 39 percent of the cost of the investment and is claimed over a seven-year credit allowance period. In each of the first three years, the investor receives a credit equal to five percent of the total amount paid for the stock or capital interest at the time of purchase. For the final four years, the value of the credit is six percent annually. Investors may not redeem their investments in CDEs prior to the conclusion of the seven-year period.

An organization wishing to receive awards under the NMTC Program must be certified as a CDE by the Fund.

To qualify as a CDE, an organization must:

* be a domestic corporation or partnership at the time of the certification application;

* demonstrate a primary a mission of serving, or providing investment capital for, low-income communities or low-income persons; and

* maintain accountability to residents of low-income communities through representation on a governing board of or advisory board to the entity.

The FEDERAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION TAX INCENTIVES PROGRAM

The 20% tax credit Preservation Tax Incentives reward private investment in rehabilitating historic properties such as offices, rental housing, and retail stores. Abandoned or under-used schools, warehouses, factories, churches, retail stores, apartments, hotels, houses, and offices in many cities have been restored to life in a manner that retains their historic character. The Preservation Tax Incentives have also helped to create moderate and low-income housing in historic buildings.

Under the provisions of the Tax Reform Act of 1986, a 20% tax credit is available for the substantial rehabilitation of commercial, agricultural, industrial, or rental residential buildings that are certified as historic. The credit may be subtracted directly from federal income taxes owed by the owner.

The Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program benefits the owner, the occupants, and the community by:

o Encouraging protection of landmarks through the promotion, recognition, and designation of historic structures

o Increasing the value of the rehabilitated property and returning underutilized structures to the tax rolls

o Upgrading downtowns and neighborhoods and often increasing the amount of available housing within the community.

The American Jobs Creation Act Of 2004: 100% Federal Deductions + 20-30% State Tax Credits!

In the United States, the 2004 enactment of Section 181 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (the “Code”) marked an unprecedented change in U.S. policy toward the phenomenon known as “Runaway

Production”.

Runaway Production refers to a film or television production that leaves one state or country to be filmed in another purely for economic reasons. This movement occurs because producers tend to film in the location where they can minimize production costs through tax incentives, cheaper labor.

Over the years, Canada has been the greatest beneficiary of U.S. runaway productions (according to some reports, Canada has claimed up to 80% of the U.S. runaways, generating an economic impact of $10.3 billion in production output in 1998 alone).

Section 181 represents the first time that the U.S. federal government has recognized this impact by passing tax legislation to actively combat the flight of film and television programming.

Section 181 permits a 100% write-off for the cost of certain audio-visual works, regardless of what media they are destined for (e.g., theatrical, television, DVD, etc.).

An individual or company who makes an investment into Section 181 qualified productions can take a 100% deduction of their investment against their passive (individual) or ordinary (as C Corporation) income in the year their investment wasmade.

The deduction can be made against active income should the investment be made by or through a widely held C corporation. The law is in effect until December 31, 2009, therefore investments must be made before that date and the money invested into qualifying productions must be spent by then by the productions.

An example, should an individual or corporation that is taxed at a 35% tax rate have passive income to take a deduction against, then should that individual make a $1 Million investment into a qualified production or film fund, the actual net investment will be $650,000 since they can take a deduction against that full $1 Million against their passive income, and 35% of $1M is $350,000, which is the value of the deduction they can make in the year they make their investment. Therefore, 1M minus $350,000 is $650,000 which is the net amount of their investment into the qualified production.

However, an investor or Company can also receive an additional 15-30% in state tax credits on the entire budget of a film BEFORE profits and other exit strategies that Noci Pictures Entertainment has in place.

This clearly shows a premium in tax credit and tax liability deduction compared with the other Federal Tax Credit Programs available.

SECTION 199

Section 199 is the income section; it is called the manufacturing section of The American Jobs Creation Act, 2004. Film Production has been defined as a manufacturer but television is not. Section 199 does not apply to television.

This section says that any manufacturer (Film Production) can have some tax relief on money returned to the investor.

o from 2005 till 2007 the taxpayer is entitled to a 3% deduction

o from 2007 to 2010 they get a 6% reduction

Condensing Boiler vs Geothermal Heat Pump: Cheap Heat Surprise

Many a home owner on the look out for something new to replace an old, inefficient heating system probably knows a thing or two about the exceptional efficiency of geothermal heat pumps. But few people are aware of the new 95% efficient condensing boilers fueled by natural gas.

While a geothermal heat pump’s 350% efficiency far outstrips that of a 95% efficient condensing boiler, higher efficiency ratings don’t always mean lower heating costs.

It’s only when the cost of fuel is factored in can you determine the actual cost of heating for each system. In the example below the cost to produce 100,000 Btu will be used to compare the systems.

Since a geothermal heat pump runs on electricity measured in kilowatt hours (kWh), and a condensing boiler is fueled by natural gas measured in therms, it’s necessary to convert kWh of electricity into “therms” to make an accurate comparison.

One therm of gas produces 100,000 Btu so we need to know how many kWh of electricity it would take to produce 100,000 Btu. Since one kWh = 3,413 Btu it would require 29.3 kWh to produce 100,000 Btu, or one “therm” of electricity.

Here in New England electricity goes for $0.143 per kWh. So a “therm” of electricity would cost $4.19 (29.3 x $0.143). A therm of natural gas, according to National Grid, cheapest acomplia retails for $0.78.

The next step is to apply each appliance’s efficiency to its respective fuel price. But it’s not as simple as multiplying the fuel price by the percentage of efficiency (95% or 350%). Instead you would use the coefficient of each percentage as a constant to keep the comparison apples to apples.

The condensing boiler efficiency is 95% therefore the coefficient is 1/.95 or 1.05

The geothermal heat pump efficiency is 350% so the coefficient would be 1/3.50 or .29

Finally, the efficiency coefficient is multiplied by the cost per therm of fuel for each system to determine which one produces 100,000 Btu of heat for the least amount of money.

Geothermal Heat Pump: .29 x $4.19 = $1.22 per 100,000 Btu

Condensing Boiler: 1.05 x $0.78 = $0.82 per 100,000 buy clomid Btu

The surprising results show that even though a geothermal heat pump is 3½ times more efficient than a condensing boiler the heat it produces is 49% more expensive.

This paradox is brought about by recent low natural gas prices and the high cost of electricity in New England.

I am personally interested in the stories of people starting up a company, why they did take the change, what did make them make the jump etc.

Today, I talked to Thomas Mylonas (20 Mar 1982, Netherlands, born in Greece), Owner and CEO of 3 companies Crux Group, Dot Kite and Loggia Import.

Thomas Mylonas is one of the most influential designers and entrepreneurs of his generation. At 27, he has already influenced and inspired others through a wide range of disciplines & media; creating everything from chairs, household objects, advanced footwear concepts, consumer electronics, Hotels and Bar-Restaurants.

In 2007, Business Week announced that Thomas Mylonas, founder of the successful design brand Dot Kite, has been selected as the winner of the Europe’s Young Entrepreneurs 2007 competition. This award is an annual recognition for the most promising young business minds. Earlier this year, Thomas Mylonas was nominated and published by the leading design magazine “Square-Mag” as the most influential designer of this year.

Born in Athens, his collective inspiration gathered from his early years spent travelling across Europe, paid dividends when he relocated to Rome to study Industrial Design.

What are the possibilities for your company with this crisis?
All my three businesses, perform very well during this year. Actually, I do not feel there is any Financial Crisis. I believe that in such times, businesses should be more flexible and being able to  adapt to the new business environment as fast as possible. This is also what I always tried to do with my entrepreneurial activities. To work on a smaller scale and being able to maneuver faster and more efficient

What would you like to see the government will do to push innovation and young entrepreneurs?
Governments should try to work closer with the entrepreneurs and try to understand which new policies, rules and legislations might help to boost all business operations. Moreover, I believe that governments should start working from the educational system rather than providing funds to new companies and/or young entrepreneurs. What we lack today is a proper educational system that stimulates the entrepreneurial mindset of every single person. Unfortunately, at schools they teach us on how to be great workers and how to obey to orders. Entrepreneurship is totally the opposite! Entrepreneurs love to be challenged and to think out of the box. Entrepreneurs love to live at the edge and of course this is what makes them successful as well.
Therefore, I believe that governments should put more of their efforts to create a more stimulating educational environment that will “build” more independent thinkers and people that love to take risks rather than just people that are trained to do one job.

How do you see/handle expansion to other countries or do you stay local?
Currently my businesses expand in three different countries in Europe. Dot Kite has offices in Amsterdam, Athens and Rome and for those offices we provide our high quality design services to our clients.
In addition, Loggia Import is operating in The Netherlands but we are planning to expand our operations to the BeNeLux market very soon.

Finally, Crux Group is my investment vehicle that I am looking for interesting a new projects all over the world. Staying local in this global market is not an option and therefore every new business activity I undertake I always think if and how it could scale up for the global market.

How to Recover and Reset Password in windows 7/Vista/XP/2003/2K/NT for Free

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account “Administrator” generic acomplia rimonabant and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it’ll show Classic Login box. Now type “Administrator” (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from “Control Panel -> User Accounts”.
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

If you cannot log on to Windows by using a particular user account, but you can log on to another account that has administrative credentials, follow these steps on how to do the trick:

2.      Click Start, and then click Run.

3.      In the Open box, type “control userpasswords2?, and then click OK.

4.      Click the user account that you forgot the password for, and then click Reset Password.

5.      Type a new password in both the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and then click OK.

Method 4: TRY command prompt about password reset trick

1. Log in with any valid account.

2. Bring up the command prompt.

Type: net user

You get a list of accounts

Type: net user Administrator *

Type: net user (any account on that list) *

3. It prompts for a password. Enter one, then enter it again when prompted to confirm.

Recently the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, H.R. 1424, was passed by Congress that includes a new federal investment tax credit to assist the public in offsetting the wind turbine cost for their homes, businesses or farms.  Without any delay, president Bush signed the bill into law.

The Act offers a federal tax credit for 30% of the total installed cost of any wind power system with a 100 kilowatt capacity or less, but the credit will not exceed $4,000. The limitation of the Act is that it only applies to new systems installed from 3 October 2008 through to December 2016, so any current systems will get no tax relief.  In addition, for home wind turbines, the credit is further limited to the lesser of $4,000 or $1,000 per kW of capacity.

America, who has typically lead the worldwide small wind turbine market recently begun to feel pressure from other nations that offered enticing incentives for small renewable energy systems. So the new legislation was warmly welcomed by a Small Wind Advocate of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), Ron Stimmel, who said:

“We thank Congress for recognizing and supporting small wind systems as an important contributor toward energy security and a cleaner environment. This credit will help individuals cut their electric bills while combating global warming in a tangible way.”
